Warmer Earth, Lesser Rice

The entire human race is currently suffering from a global shortage of rice but what’s causing it? Six years of drought in Australia took its toll in the global rice market. With that in mind, I think it’d be safe to say that global warming has something to do with it.

Rice fields have turned into dusty lands as global warming continues to affect every single country in the world. Weather is no longer normal. Some parts of the world suffer from too much rainfall while others suffer from too much heat.

With drought, rice fields have turned from this:
Rice Field to Dusty Rice Field

For those living in countries where rice is consumed daily, this is very very bad news. One such country is the Philippines. It’s where me and my family live in and we eat rice three times a day. With the current rice shortage, many families are resorting to some other food source to satisfy their starving stomachs. The same is true for many countries in the world.

Global warming is a serious threat and we have to do something about it. It might not be affecting you much now but sooner or later it will.
